The early-care and education professionals who spend their days working with children – whether in a center-based setting or in a family home situation – have enormous responsibility. They must keep their young charges safe and secure, provide a loving and nurturing environment, and stimulate children to learn, reach their potential, and prepare for entry into elementary school.
Many of Ready to Learn Providence’s activities are targeted at early-care educators because of the tremendous role they play in the well-being of children and in realizing the R2LP vision – that all children will enter school healthy and ready to learn.
Since R2LP's inception in 2002, some 1,500 providers have benefited from one or more of the following programs:
Early Reading First
Early Childhood Educator Professional Development
First Aid and CPR
HeadsUp!Reading
Mind in the Making
