Graduates of R2LP's Early Childhood Educator Professional Development program celebebrated the completion of a year-long program at a ceremony in their honor on June 10. Some 138 center-based, home-based and Head Start providers earned the certificate this year after completing two college-level courses in early literacy and working with mentors to put theory into practice in their own classrooms and settings. They now join the more than 150 providers who completed the program in 2007/2008.
The graduation was held at the Providence Academy of International Studies. Shown below are pictures taken on the last day of class at Ready to Learn Providence. ECEPD participants take two courses -- HeadsUp! Reading and Early Literacy Curriculum. Each course concludes with presentations from the participants.
