As a community collaboration, Ready to Learn Providence relies heavily upon the committed volunteers who help to ensure that R2LP achieves its vision. With more than 100 active partner organizations and dozens of active volunteers, R2LP has developed a number of committees to engage members of the R2LP community who want to help direct R2LP’s activities and priorities.
Each of the committees has a lead staff person from R2LP or one of our partnering organizations. Staff prepare agendas and minutes, arrange for the meeting space and prepare necessary materials and handouts. In some cases staff run the meetings; in others there is a chairman who conducts the meeting. In either case, the members who volunteer on the committees are absolutely essential to the work that is accomplished.
