Graduation 2010

R2LP salutes its AmeriCorps members

R2LP recognized the collective and individual accomplishments of its 2009/2010 AmeriCorps team at an end-of-the-year celebration, held at Save the Bay, on June 30th.

Collectively, this remarkable team logged more than 54,500 hours of service over the past 11 months. Many say they want to pursue careers in the early-care field as a result of their work and training this year. Five already have offers for positions, and more are expected to receive them within weeks.

“You are all stars, and you make all of us look really good,” R2LP AmeriCorps Director Nazly Guzman told the members. “You have performed your work with dedication, pride and dignity, and our community partners can’t say enough about how pleased they are with what you have done.”

The celebration ended with some special pomp and circumstance for Clarissa Aleman, a second year AmeriCorps member who recently completed the requirements for her high school diploma.
